Have you ever though of getting an orange duvet cover for your bed? Orange is generally not a color that would spring into your mind when you think of bedding. Today however, with people's ideas in décor changing radically, nothing is impossible and with so many lovely shades of orange available, there's no reason at all why an orange duvet cover cannot cover your bed.
Orange being such a bright color would look marvelous when it is complimented with accessories in matching colors. Gone are the days when it was thought that ladies should have pastel colors for their bedding and men to have more earthy colors such as browns, blacks and beige. While there's nothing wrong with those colors if that's what you like, I would personally feel affronted if someone expects me to have a boring pastel pink as a bed spread or a girly looking floral yellow for a duvet cover.
On the other hand, an orange duvet cover would definitely give a splash of color and a look of warmth to any room, and mixed with bright blue or vibrant green details it could even look stunning and give a room a completely different perspective. Of course orange comes in more muted shades of peach and coral which would look simply beautiful if combined with shades of green and pale yellow. Just imagine an orange duvet cover in that combination. Wouldn't it bring a glow to your heart and perkiness to spirit to enter a room decorated in such bohemian colors?
One must however, never make the mistake of having everything in orange that would be a disaster of massive proportion. The brighter orange should be softened with paler colors such as lemon or white to give a softer and more subtle overall appearance. An orange duvet cover that has a lemon floral design or stripes is lovely.
There's no end to the mixing one can do with a primary color like orange. An orange duvet cover will also go well with a certain shade of blue or even green to make a bold and reckless statement of individuality. If the bright orange however is not for you; you can always go for the more subtle shades of orange such as coral and peach which are also very pleasing colors without being too obvious.
Having said that, why not go all out, and be really brave. A hot orange duvet cover with a splash of deep purple would look stunning if you have the courage to go for it. Do not always take the easy way out by settling for the same old tried and proven color combination. Let your color scheme show your true personality. The next time you need to change your bedroom décor; go for an orange duvet cover, and you might even surprise yourself by seeing how much it uplifts your spirits and give your bedroom a look of gaiety and sunshine.
